Puzzle 4: Take One

Surveyors Heyawake (v0.1) Follow regular Heyawake rules: Follow dynasty rules. Additionally, no connected white cells in the same row/column may span over one bold border.

There are numbers in the grid. For each “region” (bold-bordered area), exactly one of the numbers act as a Heyawake clue: the number is equal to the number of black squares in the region. All other numbers are Minesweeper clues: each number is equal to the number of black squares on the number or adjacent to the number.

Yeah bad title maybe. But I think this one has some pretty tricks waiting (besides the tricks of Heyawake)… I’m trying to get a few basic tricks I figured out here. However, this would be rated somewhere like medium, or 4 out of 10. Whoa.

And yes, I miscounted; I didn’t see Puzzle 3 in my book so I reported that I had only two puzzles ready, while I have three. 😛

Puzzle 2: Whirlpools

Jigsaw Slitherlink Follow Slitherlink rules: Draw a loop along the gridlines (only horizontal and vertical movements between the dots) such that the loop never touches or crosses itself. A number on a square indicates the number of edges of the square that are on the loop (not inside, on).

In addition, the board has been broken into pieces. Assemble the pieces before solving. The pieces cannot be rotated nor reflected.

Puzzles!

Yeah, I will continue making puzzles, only not at the same rate as the one in my blog. Probably once every time I have the time. Maybe like betaveros and his one-month-a-puzzle schedule (though he starts deviating to less than a week per puzzle (who said I won’t either? (yay parentheses nesting))). If I can make the picture from this phone. >_<

Meanwhile, inspired from this blog entry, here’s a little puzzle for you to crack…

S01 – Slitherlink

This is a Slitherlink puzzle, with the All-Odd variation. All the odd numbers have been given to you; an empty cell indicates that its clue is not odd. Your task is not (only) to find the solution; your task is to prove that the solution is unique.

EDIT: Okay prove that there is no solution. Apparently you must make a loop.

It’s weird that I’m a fan of Pokemon but I don’t have any entry about it in this blog. So here goes the first entry.

Achievement Replenished

Well, so my second forum game with a co-mod is almost ready. Thanks to Yoshi aka Yoshiap aka [real name redacted], the game is well prepared. Hopefully. The nth achievement game in AoPS, also the mth (I cannot use the same variable to represent different numbers right?) forum game that is based on another forum game.

So…I think I haven’t got to know good things to post, so here’s a bridge hand. A bad one, I would say, since I got 2D+5. 😦 I’m south. See if you can get a grand slam yourself.
